Comisión interinstitucional de comercio justo y solidario
Description
The Comisión interinstitucional de comercio justo y solidario [the Solidarity and Fair Trade Inter-institutional Commission] comes under the Ministry of Economy of Guatemala. Its role is to combine the efforts of government and non governmental institutions that promote and encourage the development of Fair Trade commercial opportunities for various productive sectors, particularly the small producers.
Its mission is to encourage a sustainable, fair and solidarity economy via the role of small-scale producers to reach a sustainable development.
In the Commission’s vision, small-scale producers (men and women) are grouped within a platform composed of different actors who generate a sustainable, fair and solidarity economy.
In 2010-2011, Uniterra accompanied the dialogue between the state and civil society and directly contributed to the elaboration of new economic policies favourable to local and community economies.
