The focus of the Uniterra Agriculture and Rural Development Program is based on a comprehensive strategy that aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of the rural poor in Sri Lanka. It’s support is multi-faceted, focusing on three seminal areas (i) food processing (ii) access to markets and (iii) women entrepreneurship. This is achieved through capacity building interventions among partner organizations who work directly with the rural poor. |

SUR LE TERRAINWe concentrate mostly on developing and strengthening the capacity of partner organizations in the area of institutional management, technology development, market growth, new product development and economic empowerment of women. PROFIL D'UN PARTENAIRECathy Rich Memorial Food Processing Training Centre was established in 1992 to cater the technological needs of small scale food processing sector. The Centre is now functioning as an independent Resource Centre for food processing which is providing training and technology development to small business in the area of food transformation.
