Uniterra Delivers its Public Engagement Results - Thanks to You!
The Uniterra program exists due to support from the Canadian government. In addition, a majority of Canadians share our values of solidarity and agree that a portion of our public funds should be invested as aid for developing countries in the effort to reduce poverty worldwide. To maintain and increase this support in order to sustain the programmes' annual growth, we have the responsibility to inform the public about Uniterra's accomplishments and results which would not have been so successful without the above contributions. Here is what you can do>>
- Keep in touch
- Fill in yourPersonal Volunteer File to report your public engagement activities in 2007-2008
- Invite a friend to volunteer
- Attend alumni reunions
- Be a homestay host for international students and visitors from our Southern partners
- Participate in pre-departure and debriefing orientations
- With the support of Uniterra, organize a conciousness-raising event in your community
- Once you have returned, tell us about one of your experiences getting involved in development work: info@uniterra.org
-
Global Citizens for Change, a collaborative project by nine of Canada's Volunteer Cooperation Agencies, encourages all volunteers to connect with their Member of Parliament to explain your efforts in the field and promote the Canadian government's ongoing support for volunteer cooperation.

Acting Together to Reduce World Poverty.
Uniterra provides opportunities to volunteers, organizations, businesses and students to be actively involved in achieving the Millennium Development Goals in Canada and 13 countries of the Global South. Citizens around the world joined the UN Millennium Development Goals campaign to call upon government to play their role in putting an end to poverty, offering more and better aid, adopting fair trade practices, and canceling the debts of the poorest countries. In 2004, CECI and WUSC joined forces to create Uniterra in the hopes of playing a leading role in mobilizing Canadians for international cooperation.
