Acting Together To Reduce World Poverty

Uniterra provides opportunities for volunteers, organizations, businesses and students to be actively involved in achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in Canada and 13 countries of the global South. Citizens around the world joined the MDGs campaign to represent their collective goals to the federal government to do more about poverty reduction strategies such as offering more and increased aid, adopting fair trade practices, and cancelling hefty debts for the poorest countries. In 2004, CECI and WUSC joined forces and created the Uniterra program, to exercise a leadership role in mobilizing Canadians for international cooperation.
