Faces of Agriculture
Geneviève Tremblay who was a part of a group of six interns along with one group leader who traveled to Mali from February to March of 2007, took part in a specialized internship in agriculture. Throughout the internship, the group supported an association of young producers of the Plaine de San in the Ségou region in Mali.During their time in Mali, the interns lived with host families where they shared their knowledge, experience and know-how with the young market gardeners of the Plain de San. They helped them with the daily work of oinion and potato production. The interns also facilitated with training workshops on diversification and intensification of the market gardening production, as well as on how to operate cooperatives and associations.
This international cooperation internship was made possible by both the Uniterra programme and the Quebec Without Borders (QSF) programme form the Ministry of International Relations in the province of Quebec.
