Who are the partners ?

A Cooperation Based on Partnerships

Our program links organizations from Canada and the developing world to facilitate social and economic development. These partnerships allow a free-flowing exchange of ideas between Northern and Southern organizations. These exchanges are multi-directional: North-South, South-North and South-South.

Partners from the South

Uniterra opens dialogue between Canadian and Southern organizations working toward common goals. We also promote and encourage collaboration among countries of the South. In all our sectors of action, we have successfully sustained partnerships in 13 countries from Africa, South America and Asia.

Click here to find out more about some of our southern partner organizations working in agriculture, rural development, social and solidarity economy, fair trade, youth, basic education, HIV and AIDS.

Canadian Partners
Uniterra engages with Canadian organizations that are pursuing issues linked to our priority sectors. With our guidance, these organizations establish ties with our partners from the South and collaborate with them to build their capacities and skills. For instance, Canadian partners welcome volunteers who come to Canada for trainings or internships, they send short-term volunteers from their organization to provide or participate in capacity building activities, and they share information and expertise.

Engaging the Canadian public

Uniterra's Canadian partners work to put development issues in the public conscience. Participation from Canadian organizations in the Uniterra Program helps in the gradual achievment of the Millennium Development Goals.
