IN THE FIELD

Uniterra’s partners want to increase enrollment and retention of girls in schools, as well as make education accessible to both sexes.  Their work includes actions such as lobbying to change education policies and programmes, and developing teaching materials that are more gender-friendly.

PARTNER PROFIL

The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) is a lobbying NGO based in Accra that is dedicated to increasing access to basic education for all Ghanaians.  To do this, GNECC’s Regional coordinators are involved in outreach to local organisations. The Coalition analyses government policies and tracks education resources available in the regions.  Uniterra and the Coalition want to improve the organisation’s capacity to collate information on lobbying activities and practices at the local and regional levels, so that they can share and learn from local experiences. GNECC also wants to strengthen and broaden its networks, as well as collaborate more effectively with teaching institutions at the district, regional and national levels.
