It is the most geographically isolated country on the South American continent. Agriculture is an activity of primary importance for the Bolivian economy. It employs practically half of the labour force and accounts for about 15% of GDP (CIDA).

IN THE FIELDWe offer support services to producers (production, credit, and marketing) and provide assistance to cooperatives and the agro-industry processing sector. A UNITERRA PARTNER IN BOLIVIACADER Cámara Departamental de Micro y Pequeñas Empresas Rurales de Oruro (the Oruro Departmental Chamber of Commerce for Rural Micro and Small Enterprise)CADER was founded on December 14, 2002, with the objective of becoming the key actor in the development of MSEs (micro and small enterprises) in the Department of Oruro. Its mission is to build the capacities of these businesses by providing training activities, technical assistance and the dissemination of their achievements such that MSEs become valid instruments for job creation and improving the living standards of rural families. CADER comprises 56 MSE members active in the alpaca/llama sector (and its derivative sectors), livestock for dairy production, quinoa production and vegetables. CADER is presently elaborating organizational development activities and an updated evaluation of each associate in order to be in a position to develop a member support strategy and a strategy for organizational, technical and productive capacity-building.
