Bethany Knox is currently in her third year at Saint Thomas University in Fredericton, studying Human Rights and Environmental Policy.

Sarah is in her 2nd year at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, studying International development Studies, Political Science and French

Mirella is studying at UQÀM in Montreal, in her 1st year of Political Science and Law.

Joanie is in her second year at Université Laval, Quebec City, studying Psychology.

Nathaniel Winata

In his fourth year at McGill University, Nathaniel is studying Arts and Science: Biomedical Sciences, Economics and East Asian Studies.

“I am looking forward to living and learning in a country and culture that is foreign to my own. I hope to be able to effect change to those around me and within myself.”

Katie is currently in her 2nd year in the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science program at Guelph University.


Christopher Wright

Chris is currently studying at Ryerson University, in his second year of the Honours Bachelor of Arts & Contemporary Studies program, with a Concentration in History and a Minor in Marketing.

Rachel Fahlman

Rachel is currently in her third year at Carleton University in Ottawa.  She is in the Honours History program, pursuing a  minor in Political Science.

Rebecca is studying at Algoma University College in Thunder Bay, Ontario.  She is pursuing a degree in Community Economic and Social Development.

Nadia D'Lima

Nadia is studying at Centennial College.  She is in her second year in Social Work.

“Being able to travel to Ghana and work on a meaningful project such as the seminar is a dream come true for me. I am looking forward to working with young people from across Canada and Ghana to raise awareness about education and bring about change to those who are denied access to this powerful tool.”

 

Lindsey Gradeen

In her second year at Nipissing University, Lindsey is studying Geography of Regional Planning, International Development and Sociology

I am so grateful for the opportunity to go on the International Seminar to Ghana. It has been a dream of mine to go to Africa and experience their unique cutlure.  I am also looking forward to making a difference by raising awareness about international development issues both globally and in my community once I return."


Robin Stratas

Robin is currently in her fourth year at the University of Windsor, studying Drama in Education and Community with a minor in Psychology.

“I maintain a global perspective in my life which I have incorporated into my studies, my involvement on campus and within the community.  The development and economic situation of Africa is of great interest to me, and I believe the International Seminar in Ghana will provide a valuable cross-cultural learning experience, enriched through research experience and collaboration between Ghanaian and Canadian citizens."

 
Chelsey Slack


University of Ottawa student Chelsey Slack is in her third year in Political Science and History.

"It is one thing to read about the Millennium Development Goals in our textbooks and it is another thing to have the opportunity to be in the field to help put them into action!  It is a great privilege to be accepted to the 2008 Uniterra International Seminar and I look forward to working with my fellow Canadian and Ghanaian counterparts in what is certain to be a memorable experience!"
