WUSC Youth Delegation at the XVI International AIDS Conference
WUSC facilitated the participation of 9 youth from Africa and 13 Canadian youth, most of whom were former Seminar participants, in the XVI International AIDS Conference. This group of dynamic young people shared their perspective on the role of youth in the response to AIDS during panel discussions, podcasts, a photo exhibit, and by using street theater. Read more about the International Seminars in Malawi, Burkina Faso and Botswana. Check-out their discussion boards on the conference website.
2006 Uniterra Leadership Meeting
Representatives from over 50 WUSC Local Committees attended the Uniterra Leadership Meeting August 19-21 in Ottawa. This "launch of the year" event introduced new activities as part of Uniterra, presented up-dates on the Student Refugee Program, and enable Local Committee members from across Canada to get to know each other and begin the 2006-07 year with a splash! Bike Across Canada
Two students from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario have decided to dip their bicycle wheels into the  Pacific Ocean and begin a 7,000-kilometre journey to St. John’s, Newfoundland to raise funds for bicycle ambulances in Malawi. Kylie Hicklenton, 22, and Jason Shim, 23, are not athletes; they are average students who want to make a difference for those living with HIV/AIDS. Follow their journey >>
