Professional training in Vietnam

VietnamCrWUSCBanner

Although Vietnam has one of the top-performing economies among the developing countries, the wealth creation potential of its private sector remains underdeveloped. The problem is a lack of quality labour and weak management skills. With about 1.5 million people entering the labour market each year, it is vital to create jobs.

The Vietnamese government recently made a commitment to devote every effort to developing labour for the agricultural sector and to promoting training.

ON THE GROUND

In this context, the action priorities of Uniterra’s partners in Vietnam fall into several categories: these include improving the quality of local labour by helping improve the quality of vocational training in community colleges and universities through the continuous teaching of various skills (including English and information technologies); and enhancing the quality of vocational training systems to reduce the gap between supply and demand on the labour market.

To enable the Vietnamese people to acquire greater self-reliance, access to a better education system is fundamental. This makes it important to help build and offer teaching tools that that can help Vietnamese men and women position themselves advantageously on the labour market, enabling them to improve their living conditions.
