Jeff Turnbull Contributions to International Medecine" Award given to Leave for Change volunteer

Dr. Pierre Allard, a L4C physician in Burkina Faso in 2010 and 2011 has won the "Jeff Turnbull Contributions to International Medecine" Award of $ 5,000 which he is donating to Revs+.

Dr. Allard and Dr. Martin Labrie were the first two L4C palliative care specialists for Burkina and worked with Rev+ and SEMUS as well as the Ministry of Health to assess needs and develop a palliative care strategy which has been integrated into the Burkina Faso Ministry of Health National Strategy.  They are both returning with L4C (part of the Canadian Med. Foundation program) to Burkina Faso to follow up and deliver more training.

Dr. Allard also organized and supported the S-N assignment of the Burkinabè physician in September 2011. The S-N hosting organisation in Quebec City also raised $3000 following the placement.
